About

I am a current sufferer of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). After many years of dieting, exercising, and doing whatever I could to try to lose weight, I realized that I needed some help. I've struggled with weight all of my life and nothing ever seemed to work for me, despite hours at the gym, healthy eating, and determination. I joined Dr. Bernstein on January 5, 2010 when I finally realized that I needed help in order to feel better and manage the symptoms of PCOS.

Update

Sorry I haven't written lately.  Not much new to report as I was in a plateau for a bit.  I'm moving again which is nice!

I lost 2.2lbs since Monday and some more inches off my waist and hips!

Here's the results:

Starting Weight as of Jan 5/10: 218.4lbs
Current Weight as of March 31/10: 177.6lbs (-41lbs)
Starting Waist as of Jan 5/10: 45 inches
Current Waist as of March 31/10: 37 inches (-8 inches)
Starting Hips as of Jan 5/10: 52 inches
Current Hips as of Mar 31/10: 46 Inches (-6 inches)
Total Inches lost between waist and hips - 14 inches.

On another note, I asked the nurse at the clinic today for tips on how to make it through the Easter weekend.  Luckily, my husband and I are staying home and having our very own turkey dinner but I still needed some tips to stay on track.  They mentioned to me that if I really want something that I am not normally allowed to eat, that I pick just one thing and have just a little bit.  My 3 favourite things for a turkey dinner are stuffing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin/apple pie.  Now I have to make a decision as to which one I'm going to pick to have or if I'm going to have anything at all.  Is it really worth it and a possible slow down in my weight loss?  Probably not but it would be nice to enjoy myself for just one meal.  I guess its a big decision that I need to think about!

as of March 30, 2010 - down 41 lbs :-)

You are doing great, your numbers are amazing!

I decided I am not going to eat anything off plan this Easter weekend. I would kill for a glass of white wine though! I hope I can stay strict as my losses really stop if I even eat a few ounces extra of vegetables. I unfortunately was blessed-I mean cursed, with a sloooow metabolism.

I can really see in your face the huge weight loss, you look great.

Happy Easter!
