About

I am a current sufferer of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). After many years of dieting, exercising, and doing whatever I could to try to lose weight, I realized that I needed some help. I've struggled with weight all of my life and nothing ever seemed to work for me, despite hours at the gym, healthy eating, and determination. I joined Dr. Bernstein on January 5, 2010 when I finally realized that I needed help in order to feel better and manage the symptoms of PCOS.

April 14/10 Results

First, I'd like to say a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Mother who I know reads my blogs! So I hope you read my blog today Mom!

Today's results are as follows:

Current Weight as of April 14/10: 171.4lbs
Starting Weight as of Jan 5/10: 218.4 lbs
Total weight loss as of April 14/10: 47 lbs
Weight loss to go: 41.4 lbs

Next Wednesday I will update my measurements as that is my next 3 week measurement date!

I almost met my 2-week goal this week - I was off by 0.8 lbs (my 2 week goal was 170.6).   However, considering I had a slow start to the month and was behind to start with, I did pretty good.  I'm not sure if I'm losing better due to not drinking as much diet pop, the addition of green tea into my diet, or the added water.  I am testing it to see what makes a difference.  I have a feeling that I can still continue drinking diet pop (althought its not healthy for me) and still lose weight regardless.  However, b/c this diet is about me getting HEALTHY, I've decided to ween myself off the diet pop and stick with healthy non-chemical beverages such as green tea and water.  I will still have the odd diet pop when I want one but certainly not the 6 cans+ a day I was having before!

I wrote on Monday that I was putting 1 packet of splenda into my green tea. Well I have stopped that and now drink my green tea plain.  Its not too bad - a little bland but I am getting used to it. I am noticing that my face is clearing up and looking much healthier and youthful since I've added in green tea to my diet.  So I hope it keeps up!

I will write again on Friday with my weight update!

Great job so far!!! You asked, "how long would it take the average person to lose 41.4 lbs..." I'd say it'd take over a year for most people to lose that much!

Keep up the good work.
