I am a current sufferer of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). After many years of dieting, exercising, and doing whatever I could to try to lose weight, I realized that I needed some help. I've struggled with weight all of my life and nothing ever seemed to work for me, despite hours at the gym, healthy eating, and determination. I joined Dr. Bernstein on January 5, 2010 when I finally realized that I needed help in order to feel better and manage the symptoms of PCOS.

In the 160's

Well, I made it into the 160's today!  Finally!  I never made it into the clinic today for a weigh-in as I'm home ill with a cold/flu but my scale at home is exactly 2 pounds heavier and I weigh 169.4 today.  I'm very happy as I haven't been in the 160's since I was a lot younger and it seems as though I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel now.  Only 39.4 lbs to go and I've reached my goal weight.

I have decided that I'm ending the diet the week of June 26th.  The reason is b/c my sister's wedding reception will be on June 26th and this is going to be my goal date.  It will be too hard for me to travel to Calgary and stay on this diet for the weekend.  I want to be able to enjoy myself and not have to worry about making sure I find the proper food that I can eat on this diet.  I will be beginning my own maintanence plan after my sister's wedding reception and I am looking forward to this end date.  I may not be at the clinic's goal weight of 130 lbs but I will be darn close and will have still lost a considerable amount of weight by then.  I am going to follow the maintenance plan with the information I have been given and begin working out again and getting fit.  This will allow me to lose the rest of the weight or at least maintain it.

I'm so looking forward to buying a dress for my sister's wedding reception and feeling good about myself and the way I look for the first time!  I cannot wait!  I will finally be able to enjoy myself and be happy as I congratulate my sister and her new husband on their wedding.  I won't be preoccupied with how I look and can finally put all that behind me!

Current weight as of April 19th/10: 169.4lbs
Starting Weight as of Jan 5th/10: 218.4
Total weight lost as of April 19/10: 49 lbs
Weight loss to go: 39.4 lbs

Hi Shenade
I just started the Dr. B's diet, 2 weeks exactly tomorrow actually! And you are very inspiring to me! I have lost 14lbs so far which I think is really good..I dont have a problem with the food (yet), but you have shown me that you will go ups and downs all the time, but get through it! You look awesome! Keep up the good work! :)

Thank you! I am glad I'm inspiring to you! This is why I started this blog. If I can lose weight, anyone can! Keep up the good work! 14 lbs is amazing in 2 weeks!
