I am a current sufferer of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). After many years of dieting, exercising, and doing whatever I could to try to lose weight, I realized that I needed some help. I've struggled with weight all of my life and nothing ever seemed to work for me, despite hours at the gym, healthy eating, and determination. I joined Dr. Bernstein on January 5, 2010 when I finally realized that I needed help in order to feel better and manage the symptoms of PCOS.

Not budging much

Well I'm not budging much this week.  I actually went up a bit this week ---not sure why but I did.  I think it's b/c I lost so much over the weekend and its my body's way of evening things out! 

I have made a final decision that June will be my last month of the diet, regardless of whether I meet my weight goal.  I unfortunately ran out of money and although I'd love to be able to continue with it until I reach my goal, it just isn't in the cards.  It was actually recommended to me by the nurses at the clinic today that I stop for awhile anyways to give my body a bit of a rest.  They also said that I've done so well and that it may be time to stop for awhile.  They gave me a sheet with information on the maintenance plan that I can do in the comfort of my own home (they still recommend you come in 1 time /week to get weighed and bring in a urine sample, etc).  However, I'm just going to do it myself at home. I am pretty sure I have the means and the willpower to lose the rest myself with a good exercise routine and similar eating habits.  Exercising has never been a problem for me but it may be a bit of a struggle to get back to exercising since I haven't done anything since I've started this diet!!!

I have to say this whole experience has been life changing and has really allowed me to start liking myself again and the way I look.  I now get ready only once in the morning instead of constantly scrutinizing the way I look and changing my outfit 4 or 5 times! I actually get ready on time too which my husband quite enjoys.

I think I will be about 15-17 lbs away from my goal by the time I complete this diet but it could be closer or further away depending on my body.  I will still have lost almost 70 lbs by the time I complete this diet at the end of June.  I unfortunately cannot help how fast my body loses weight and I'm learning slowly that your body does what it wants to do when it wants to do it.
